Debbie Bales
I grew up in a home that went to church on Easter and sometimes Christmas. I went some as a child with an aunt. As a teen I went to a church with some friends, but by about the age of 15 pretty much quit going. When I got married we went to church some but after children came along, we stopped. I knew about God and Jesus but really didn't know them.
After moving to Augusta and meeting my neighbors, they went to church and my youth started going with them and they kept asking me to go, finally I did and at the age of 36 accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Which is the best thing that I have ever done!
I never knew such love as the unconditional love of God, my life as the world looks at it is pretty bleak, but the joy that I have so much out weighs all that. God so takes care of all my needs and He also gives me some of my wants! comment posted by Mid'Cap worker on 08-05-2009 I work in augusta and the government has issued stimulus money in which we can issue food vouchers worth 30 dollars. The only problem is that no one in this area will honor them, I know in these tough times everyone could use a little help but now we have the help and no place to use it. When I heard the vouchers were worth 30 dollars I immediately thought of the angel food program and how helpful to people in our area it would be to have a little food on the table in these troubled times. I don't know exactly how to contact the gracious people who helped get our area the angel food and have put alot of time and effort into getting this program up and running so I though maybe I could get there by e-mail. I would love for someone to hear about our vouchers and know exactly how much it would help if people could maybe buy angel food with them. So if you could please contact the director of Mid-Kansas Community action Program and let her explain the details and help support our community I would greatly appreciate it. Her name is Marion Nichols and the phone number is 775-3000. Thank you so much for your time and God Bless.
